Eyes and lids, the position of the eyebrows are very important elements in determining the square of a face. The structures around the eyes are the thinnest and most delicate structures of our body, whether it is skin, subcutaneous adipose tissue, and eye muscles. Because we also use this area very often during our facial expressions in daily life, it is our areas that wear out the most over time. The areas where the feeling of old age first begins are around the eye.

What happens with aging;

  • Transverse lines are formed due to the contraction of the frontalis muscle under the forehead area,
  • Eyebrows are stacked towards the eyes, especially the tail part,
  • Vertical stripes form between the eyebrows,
  • The upper eyelids droop over the eyes due to their soft skin, and the bag image is formed by piling the fat chamber forward, especially under the inner parts,
  • Cross lines called goose feet are formed at the edges of the eyes,
  • In the lower eyelid, striations occur,
  • The appearance of a bag is formed on the lower eyelid by loosening the membrane structures in front of the oils that act as pillows around the eye.
  • A tear-through deformity occurs on the lower eyelid, extending from the side of the cheek on the inside
  • A bagging image called a festoon is formed on the sides of the cheek.

All of these problems were tried to be solved by surgery when Botox was not so up-to-date. But with botox application, we can get beautiful results in an aesthetic sense around the eye. Especially in removing horizontal lines on the forehead, vertical lines between the eyebrows, lines called the goose foot at the edge of the eyes and giving the position of the eyebrow, botox application provides an adequate solution for most patients, but there are some cases that require surgery. In this case, we apply either forehead lift, eyebrow lift or eyelid aesthetics called bleferoplasty. It is also possible to apply combinations of these. A forehead lift may be required if the eyebrows are stacked on the eye, not just the side end of the eye. An eyebrow lift may be required if the side part of the eyebrow position is too low. Bleferoplasty may be required if sagging and bagging of the eyelids is excessive. In addition, in my interview with my patient, we listen to him well, according to his expectations and according to the current situation, we choose the appropriate treatment. First, we see if we can solve the problem with botox. If the edge of the eyebrow is not raised enough, and the excess skin is too much and the bags are too much, we can do bleferoplasty and eyebrow removal. If the forehead area needs to be completely removed, we can do a forehead lift.
